Tank Container Overhaul

A damaged tank container poses the risk of cargo leakage, fines, and downtime, so timely diagnostics and repair are critically important for cargo safety and help avoid excessive costs.

Our terminal received a tank container that had been in service for several years and had significant damage:

• Deformation and corrosion of the shell
• Damage to support elements and the load-bearing frame
• Compromised tightness and insulation integrity of the container vessel
• Loss of markings
• Missing drain fittings
• Stages of completed work

Our team conducted a full technical inspection and carried out comprehensive repairs, including:

1. Repair of the load-bearing frame and replacement of worn and damaged support structure elements.
2. Restoration of tightness, replacement of insulation sections of the vessel, and all gaskets.
3. Bench testing of safety valves, drain, and fill fittings.
4. Renewal of insulation and protective coating.
5. All necessary pneumatic and hydraulic tests (steam line check, pneumatic test under test pressure, hydraulic test by filling the tank with water at 6 bar pressure).
6. Certification according to international standards.

Final stages:

1. The container received a full update of its paint coating.
2. Markings and installation of regulated signs.
3. Result – all tests successfully passed, and the container is fully ready for operation and certified according to Bureau Veritas standards.
