Temperature complexes
Temperature complexes are modular warehouse systems based on refrigerated containers that can be used as a mobile or scalable solution for cooling, freezing, processing, packaging, and storage of products with a controlled temperature range of -60°C/+30°C (depending on the model).
Rapidly erected refrigeration complexes are an alternative to cold storage warehouses and are used in trade, the food industry, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, logistics, and other sectors where it is essential to maintain stable product storage conditions and minimize quality losses.
How Temperature Complexes Work
A modular refrigeration complex or warehouse is a single facility comprising individual refrigeration modules, which are standardized reefer containers equipped with refrigeration units and automatic temperature and humidity control systems to preserve product quality.
Depending on the required volume and upcoming tasks, a mobile cold chain warehouse can consist of several modules connected by transition zones and shared engineering infrastructure. This allows the creation of separate temperature zones for different stages of the technological process: receiving, storage, freezing, and dispatch.

Design and Specifications of Industrial Cold Storage Warehouses
The dimensions of a mobile temperature-controlled warehouse directly depend on the number of refrigerated containers included in its design. The base refrigeration module of such a warehouse is most often a 40-foot reefer container with thermal insulation, internally lined with stainless steel, having the following dimensions (external/internal):
- length: 12,190/11,578 mm;
- width: 2,440/2,280 mm;
- height: 2,896/2,525 mm;
- volume: 66.7 m³.
Technical specifications depend on the reefer container manufacturer and the installed refrigeration unit:

What Are Refrigeration Complexes Used For?
A mobile refrigeration complex can be operated as:
- a distribution center (goods arrive in large batches, are sorted, and then distributed to retail outlets, regions, or end consumers);
- a facility for the full pre-sale preparation cycle of all types of berries (washing, freezing, packaging, and loading onto trucks);
- a temporary warehouse for perishable goods (products are stored for a certain period without mandatory sorting or distribution, used to cover peak demand, or during repairs at permanent warehouses);
- a facility for the full banana ripening (gassing) cycle;
- a facility for processing fish or meat products, as well as producing semi-finished goods.
Such a modular solution is often used in the technological chain as an energy-efficient refrigeration complex where products are processed, packaged, and transferred to a cooling and/or deep-freezing zone.
Temperature complexes are used for pre-cooling before transporting berries, fruits, and vegetables in close proximity to the harvest site to preserve the texture, flavor, and appearance of agricultural produce. Modular cold storage warehouses are also suitable for storing dairy products, meat, fish and seafood, semi-finished products, and other frozen goods.
