Scheduled CSC standard audits

Scheduled CSC standard audits

CSC (Convention for Safe Containers) is an international standard that establishes requirements for shipping containers, as well as regulations for their maintenance, inspections, testing, and certification.

Submit a request

Scheduled CSC inspections are a set of mandatory procedures aimed at confirming the technical condition of containers and their compliance with the standard requirements. Following a successful CSC inspection, the container is issued a certificate, and the corresponding marking is applied to the CSC plate, confirming that the container is in proper condition and suitable for operation.

Specific Features of CSC Container Inspection at Global Container Service

Certification, or container inspection according to CSC requirements, is carried out by GCS under the PES (Periodic Examination Scheme) standard. Within this framework, the first technical inspection of the container is performed within 5 years from the date of sale, while regular inspections are conducted every 30 months.

At GCS, scheduled safety compliance inspections are performed for all types of container equipment: 20-, 40-, and 45-foot dry containers, refrigerated containers, and tank containers.

CSC inspections include specific checks depending on the type and design features of the container. For dry containers, the main focus is placed on structural integrity and body tightness. For tank containers, the inspection includes checking tightness, fittings, safety valves, wall condition, and corrosion presence. During five-year certification, hydraulic testing and technical parameter analysis are also performed.

Container certification services are carried out at the GCS terminal under the supervision of a certification bureau inspector. If necessary, repair and reefer container maintenance for dry and tank containers can also be performed on-site, including replacement of worn parts and components.
