A 45-foot dry container is a reusable, large-capacity container designed for international and domestic container logistics of goods using sea, rail, and road transport without intermediate transshipment of contents at terminals.
45-foot containers are used for multimodal transportation of construction materials, industrial equipment, household appliances, furniture, spare parts, palletized cargo, textiles, packaging, and other goods with high density and large volume.
In addition to transportation, a 45-foot container is often converted into a mobile warehouse, changing room, tool room, retail outlet, office, and other modular structures.

The container has a reinforced metal frame made of COR-TEN corrosion-resistant steel. Walls and ceiling are clad with profiled sheet metal with a protective anti-corrosion coating. The floor can be made of moisture-resistant plywood. Doors are located at the end of the container and open the full width of the opening, facilitating the loading of bulky and palletized cargo. Locking and clamping mechanisms allow the installation of seals and padlocks to ensure cargo safety.
The 45-foot container, like the 20-foot dry container, complies with international ISO (International Organization for Standardization) standards, but is not intended for the transportation and storage of goods requiring a special temperature regime. For such tasks, reefer containers are used, which allow maintaining the required temperature inside the cargo compartment.
