Tank container T14 — is an IMO 1 class tank container standardized according to ISO 1496-3, designed for domestic and international transportation, as well as temporary warehouse storage of liquid safe and dangerous goods under operating pressure of 4–6 bar, including hazardous, corrosive and aggressive chemicals.

The T14 tank container is used in the chemical, petrochemical, mining and pharmaceutical industries for the export and import of liquid bulk cargo by road, rail and sea transport.

Technical characteristics of T14 tank containers

Structurally, the T14 tank container is a welded tank made of AISI 316L stainless steel, mounted in a strong 20-foot ISO frame with eight corner fittings. The T14 tank is equipped with a ladder, a service platform and a top manhole.

For the transportation of aggressive acids, the inner surface of the tank can be additionally lined with a polymer layer using rotational molding technology.

The main feature of the T14 tank container is the absence of a bottom discharge device. Loading and unloading are carried out through the upper part of the container, which further reduces the risk of leakage of hazardous products. Pressure relief valves with rupture discs are provided for excess pressure relief.

T14 tank container: advantages

Buy T14 tank containers at a low price

ISO-tank T14 containers are used for the transportation of liquid bulk cargo with increased safety requirements and have a number of advantages:

  • compliance with ADR regulations (European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road) and international standards;
  • no bottom discharge device — minimizes the risk of accidental product leakage if the valve is damaged;
  • chemical resistance of stainless steel to most aggressive chemical compounds;
  • possibility of transportation without intermediate transshipment during multimodal transport.

T14 containers are more often used for transporting acids, alkalis, solvents, petrochemical products and other liquid substances of hazard classes 3,4, 5, 6, 8 and 9. In some cases, with appropriate preparation of the tank, food-grade liquids can be transported in the tank container.

For the transportation of cryogenic and liquefied gases, as well as goods requiring other pressure parameters, it is better to use tank container T20.

How does the T14 Tank container differ from the T10 and T11?
The T14 tank container differs from the T11 and T10 models by the absence of a bottom discharge valve, higher operating pressure, as well as the hazard class of the transported cargo (T14 — highly hazardous substances, T11 — hazardous but standard chemicals, T10 — non-hazardous and low-hazard liquids).
What affects the cost of a T14 tank container?
The price of a T14 tank container depends on the year of manufacture, configuration, technical condition of the container, the presence of an insulation layer, and a heating system.
What is the service life of the T14 tank container?
The T14 tank can serve for 20-30 years if the operating rules are followed, and timely maintenance and repair of the main container units are carried out.
How to check the technical condition of a tank container before purchase?
Before purchasing the T14 tank container, it is necessary to check the service history and the validity of the CSC certificate, as well as the condition of the frame, tank, and shut-off and control valves.
