Specifics of Dry Container Repair
Before starting work, the container is cleaned using high-pressure equipment and, if necessary, sandblasting to remove dirt, rust, and old paint coatings. This makes it possible to objectively assess the current condition of the structure and identify all damage.
Next, a defect inspection of the container is carried out. Within this process, specialists perform visual and instrumental checks of the equipment condition. Defectoscopes are used to examine weld quality, and thickness gauges are applied to assess metal wear.
The actual repair of metal containers includes work aimed at restoring operational characteristics and extending service life:
- corrosion removal and anti-corrosion treatment;
- painting (upon request — in the client’s corporate colors);
- repair of the load-bearing structure, floor, and roof with welding works (MIG, TIG, MMA);
- straightening of deformed metal structure elements;
- sealing of joints, restoration or replacement of locking mechanisms and fastening elements;
- replacement of door sealing rubber.
If necessary, GCS can perform modification of shipping containers, for example: replacing the main door or installing an additional one, reinforcing the structure, or adapting the container for use as a warehouse, office, living space, or for various business needs.
