Reefer Container Major Repairs after an Accident
Recently, our GCS team successfully completed a complex project for the major repair of a reefer container that had suffered severe damage in a traffic accident.
The following defects were identified:
- The roof was completely damaged.
- Severe deformation of the doors and side walls (inside and outside).
- Compromised insulation layer.
- Complete loss of door geometry (some doors were detached from the body).

The task for the GCS specialists was to conduct a comprehensive diagnostic, identify all technical faults, and carry out repairs so that the container met all safe operation requirements and multimodal transport standards.
Solution and work performed
Diagnostics – identifying structural and insulation damage.
Repair works:
- Complete roof replacement.
- Major repair of the doors, including full replacement of the door frame.
- Partial replacement of damaged walls using food-grade and industrial stainless steel.
- Restoration of insulation using polyurethane foam.
- Painting of new parts.
- Repair of minor damages to the body and lower parts of the container identified during inspection.
Final stages:
- Testing for airtightness and structural strength.
- Updating the container's exterior appearance.
- Certification according to international standards.

Result
The container has been fully restored, meets all safe operation standards, and is ready for further cargo transportation. All insulation and structural integrity properties have been preserved!
