Container warranty service is a set of organizational and technical measures within the framework of the warranty obligations of the manufacturer or supplier of the equipment, aimed at maintaining proper condition and eliminating defects during a specified period of container operation after purchase.

Specifics of Warranty Service

In the event of a customer claim under warranty, container diagnostics are carried out at the GCS terminal (a specialist may travel to the customer’s site). During the diagnostics of tank containers, an inspection of the internal surface of the tank, shut-off and control valves, metal structures, and thermal insulation is performed. If defects are identified, tank container repair is carried out. During the diagnostics of refrigerated containers, the temperature of the cold chain is monitored and the components of the diesel generator unit (genset) are checked: engine, generator, control unit, cooling system, and fuel system. If malfunctions are detected, reefer container service is performed with restoration or replacement of worn parts.

Cases where container repair is not covered under warranty:

  • violation of operating rules (improper use);
  • container overloading;
  • mechanical damage during accidents and loading/unloading operations;
  • metal corrosion due to improper storage conditions;
  • modification of the container design or servicing by third-party organizations without approval;
  • use of non-original spare parts.

The warranty period for new containers of all types and diesel generators (gensets) is 24 months from the date of purchase. For used refrigerated containers and diesel generators (gensets), the warranty period is 1 month for all units and assemblies, and 6 months for the compressor and controller.

How long does it take to process a warranty case?
A decision on a warranty case is made within a few hours provided that the container is at the service site. Additional inspection may be required for confirmation.
How long does warranty service take?
The timing of maintenance service depends on the nature of the malfunction: minor defects are repaired promptly on the day of the maintenance, whereas complex breakdowns may take several days.
Is a warranty card or certificate issued for the container?
When purchasing a new or used container, there is an invoice (the warranty period starts from the date of purchase). After the completion of warranty maintenance, the customer is issued a certificate of completed work.
Who pays for the transportation of the container in the event of a warranty claim?
The transportation of the container to the service center is carried out at the customer's expense. The dispatch of a specialist is also paid for if maintenance is required at the customer's site.
