Carrier refrigerated containers are containers equipped with a refrigeration unit from the American company Carrier Transicold, one of the world leaders in industrial climate control equipment.

Carrier reefers are used primarily in intermodal logistics, as well as in the food industry, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, retail, and the HoReCa sector. They are used for transporting or stationary storage of products that require strict temperature control: meat, fish, seafood, dairy products, vegetables, fruits, berries, flowers, semi-finished products, and other goods.

Carrier Refrigerated Containers: Design and Technical Specifications

Carrier reefers are available in 10, 20, 40, and 45-foot sizes, as well as 45-foot Pallet Wide (PW) with increased internal width, allowing for more efficient placement of Euro pallets. The 10- and 20-foot refrigerated containers come in Standard and High Cube modifications (the latter with increased height), while the 40, 45, and 45 ft PW models are available only in the High Cube series.

For transporting and storing large batches of products, a 40- or 45-foot reefer is suitable, while for small and medium volumes, the optimal choice is a 20-foot reefer or a 10-foot one.

A Carrier reefer consists of the following components:

• a sealed metal ISO frame;
• heat-insulated sandwich panels with polyurethane foam filler on walls and ceiling;
• T-shaped aluminum floor;
• electronic control unit for the refrigeration system;
• Carrier refrigeration equipment.

Externally, Carrier refrigerated containers are clad in industrial stainless steel (profiled sheets), while the interior is lined with food-grade steel or aluminum, which are safe for food products and easy to clean.

Reefers operate within a temperature range from -40 °C to +30 °C and can be equipped with Carrier units of the following models: ThinLINE, EliteLINE, PrimeLINE, NaturaLINE, and OptimaLINE.
