How to choose the right tank container
The choice of a tank container primarily depends on the characteristics of the cargo and the conditions of its transportation. Key factors include the type of product (chemical, food-grade, gas), its hazard level, density, viscosity, and temperature requirements.
Main criteria for choosing a tank container
For hazardous chemicals, containers that meet IMO standards (notably IMO 1, IMO 2) are used, ensuring a high level of safety and tightness. For food products, it is important to select tanks with appropriate certifications and the possibility of sanitary cleaning (CIP). Gas cargo requires specialized containers designed to operate under pressure.
Technical parameters are equally important: наличие thermal insulation or steam/electric heating for viscous products, operating pressure, capacity (typically 20–26 thousand liters), and the material of the inner tank (stainless steel with anti-corrosion coating).

It directly affects the selection of container volume and the allowable transport weight across different transport modes (road, rail, sea). Ignoring this parameter may lead to exceeding weight limits or inefficient use of capacity.
